Chateau Dining

At La Coutère we use only sustainable ingredients and produce, to create simple and delicious food. Produce is harvested from our own small farm daily, to ensure optimum freshness guaranteed. Meals are honest and imaginative and are all about flavour!

Breakfast

Great food is an integral part of the experience at Château de la Coutère and we believe that breakfast can be the most important meal of the day – an ‘occasion’ even! Whatever you are up to during your stay with us, whether it’s a morning hike, cycling in the Pyrénées, sightseeing in medieval villages or simply relaxing by the château’s pool, a hearty start will set you up for the rest of the day. Breakfast can be booked from 7.00am to 9.00am each morning.

With our home-made breakfast included in your stay, you can take advantage of our ever-changing seasonal selection. Choose from French pastries, fresh breads, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, and fresh fruits.

For those wanting to indulge further, we can also offer you a choice of hot breakfasts, (must be ordered no later than the evening before) such as our homemade crêpes, or bacon and scrambled eggs. We also have our own free-ranged pastured chickens, who supply us with an abundance of delicious organic eggs.

Table D’Hôtes

If you would prefer to stay within the tranquil setting of the château, on most evenings we can offer a hearty four-course dinner, either on the terrace or in the salle à manger. Table d’hotes is a long-standing French tradition and offers a set four-course meal with wine. Meals are required to be booked 48 hours in advance, we will do our utmost to accommodate most dietary needs if we are given prior knowledge, as we cook all our meals from scratch.

Dinner at the château is a set four-course menu; starter, main course, cheese course and dessert, served with an aperitif, a carafe of local wine of your choice and coffee or tea to finish. Our generous evening meals are 39€ per person and 15€ for children 12 or under. See a sample dinner menu here.

Drinks

Breakfast

An aperitif before your evening meal, can be just as much of an integral part of a relaxing holiday, as is the warming beverage that revives and stimulates your brain cells in the morning at breakfast.

Filtered water is provided free of charge in our glass bottles, in your suite, in addition to hot beverage making facilities for bed and breakfast guests.

If you’re planning on a day of local activities and require your water bottles filling for your activity or journey, simply ask us in the morning at breakfast.

Restaurants and Cafés

There are many great local restaurants and eateries close to the château, including some great street food too. We include some of the best in our Guest Guide, available in your room and the grand salon. We can help you to reserve tables in advance if you wish.
